Getting Our Italian On at Dolci Café | Knox’s Journey to WDS 2026

In preparation for our big trip to Bologna next year, we decided to dive into a little piece of Italy right here at home — the beautiful Dolci Café. And what a day it was!
Knox had an absolute blast soaking up the Italian vibes (and drinks!). He tried Italian sparkling water for the first time — he wasn’t quite sure when that sneaky slice of lemon 🍋 was added.
Then came the real treat: traditional homemade tagliatelle and meatballs, lovingly served by none other than the incredible Luciana Righi herself. When Knox got a little puzzled by the silverware, Luciana — true to her Italian Nonna spirit — stepped in and hand-fed him with all the warmth you'd expect from a real Italian grandmother. It was a moment we’ll never forget. ❤️
Although Knox didn’t understand the language, he left promising to learn Italian before we set foot in Bologna. A fair trade for all the love (and pasta) he received!
A heartfelt thank you to Jacqueline Righi-Boyd, Luciana, Clayton Boyd, and the wonderful staff at Dolci Café for such a warm welcome and a delicious lunch. You made us feel like famiglia.
Knox’s Journey to WDS 2026 is off to a delicious start!
