As the temperatures continue to rise in Johannesburg and spring settles in, our dryland sledding season has officially come to an end. The cooler early mornings of winter gave us the perfect window to get the dogs out in harness, enjoying the trails and doing what they love most – running as a team.
This season brought with it unforgettable moments: the sound of paws hitting the dirt, the energy of the pack pulling together, and the camaraderie of handlers cheering one another on. Every outing reminded us why dryland sledding is so special – it’s not just about fitness, it’s about building a bond with our dogs and keeping them fit for function, both in body and spirit.
With the warmer weather now here, it’s time to give the dogs a well-deserved break and look forward to the adventures ahead. Training may shift to lighter activities, but the excitement for the next season is already in the air.
We want to thank everyone who joined us this year – the handlers, the dogs, and the supporters who keep the spirit of sledding alive in Johannesburg.
Dryland sledding will be back in 2026, and we can’t wait to hit the trails once again.
Until then, enjoy the sunshine, cherish your time outdoors with your dogs, and keep that husky spirit alive.
See you on the start line in 2026!
